I'm not sure what happened to Jon Voight, but his support for Trump apparently turned his brain into mush a long time ago. Voight posted the video above to his account on Xitter, and the responses to Ron Filipkowski who re-posted the clip were a lot more appropriate than the nutters in Voight's timeline there.

Here's the transcript for anyone that doesn't want to watch it:

VOIGHT: Bring back what was lost. We must bring back the safety of this great country. We much bring our greatest achievements that once were blooming. My friends, of all colors, all religions, all nations, we must remember given truth.

One love under God. This life is full of injustice. This land of Israel is in danger. The land the free, the USA is in danger. Let us all come together and make these countries safe again. We must stop this war, we must start this darkness, this negative plague that is lingering.

How? Vote. For the only president that could save these countries once and for all. Let all nations bloom, let them shine. And my Friends, the only way President Donald J. Trump, he and only he can take this hardship and turn it into a magnificent triumph.

He can wipe out this swamp and bring glory, bring justice, and he will help save Israel and warn these enemies that they will pay the price of their injustice for their disgraceful actions.

Justice will prevail, and peace for all nations will come to be if you all see this truth that President Trump will step up to the plate of justice and overrule the barbaric animals destroying our country, the USA, and destroying the beautiful sacred land, the walls of many prayers, the soil of Moses, who said, let my people go.

This evil must be wiped out and the gift of life restored, with harmony, with faith, with safety, with love, and this is God's promise. He who seeks truths, He who seeks this and prays, they all are the gift, the love of God, God's glory. God bless.

"The barbaric animals destroying our country, the USA." Hmmmm. I wonder just who he's talking about there. It makes me just as sad as I am angry to watch this garbage, because I actually was a fan of Voight's work.

It's not like this is anything new for Voight. Just last month he was posting nonsense that Trump has been “ridiculed” and “destroyed as Jesus.”

The Independent did a deep dive into his "surreal journey from countercultural hero to A-list Trumpster" which also includes the tumultuous relationship with his daughter Angelina Jolie.

All of it reminds me a lot of the relationship I've got with my right-wing father and brother, both of whom have been lost to Fox when it comes to politics. I used to be able to have sane discussions with both of them about politics, but that ended years ago.

Now they're both members of the cult, just like Voight. And what's most infuriating is there are no answers to deprogramming either of them because I know the garbage they've been filling their heads with isn't going away any time soon, if ever. Even if we got rid of Fox, it would just be replaced with something worse.

Here are a few of the responses to Voight's madness on Xitter:
