Youngkin was more than happy to talk about everything from fearmongering over border policy, to the Speaker's race, to foreign policy, to lying about the economy, to you name it, but he failed to say a word about the fact that he wants to enact a 15 week abortion ban in his state. Who's surprised?

As we've discussed here, Democrats currently hold a very slim majority in the state Senate. As Business Insider reported this week, if the GOP wins a trifecta in the upcoming election next week, that could very upend abortion access in the south:

In Virginia, there's little dispute that abortion is on the ballot.

The November legislative races in the Commonwealth are the first election cycle since last year's overturn of Roe v. Wade where every seat in both chambers — 100 seats in the state House of Delegates and 40 seats in the state Senate — are up for grabs.

Democrats in the Commonwealth had been ascendant for much of the past decade, but they now have a major roadblock in Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who turned out conservatives and flipped just enough swing voters in 2021 to win that year's gubernatorial election.

The November elections have already scrambled Virginia's political calculus, as candidates across the Commonwealth are running in new legislative districts that resulted from the state's new redistricting process. A slew of veteran lawmakers opted out of running for reelection this year, which is poised to inject fresh blood into a legislature known for its collegiality and stability.

Youngkin managed to avoid that topic completely during an appearance on Fox's Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo. Here's his response to her asking him about the election next week, and avoiding the topic of abortion or women's access to reproductive health care while dishing out a huge heaping helping of projection on which party is the one guilty of fearmongering. Sorry Glenn, but the ones engaging in constant fearmongering to keep your base worked into a lather are Republicans.

BARTIROMO: So you think this is one of are the most important elections, if not the most important election for the country when you take a look at the legislature in Virginia. How can you reverse some of this? Do you think getting the seat in Virginia could help the Republicans take the Senate overall?

YOUNGKIN: Yeah, absolutely and at the heart of this a the state that just twenty four months ago was completely controlled by the Democrats, and in twenty four short months we put common sense conservative policies to work.

Virginia is soaring, and now Virginians have a chance to not just to give us our House majority back, but flip the Senate and therefore I will no longer have a group of progressive left Senators that try to block us at every turn and we can unleash the full potential of the commonwealth, further reducing taxes, further backing the blue, further empowering parents and further working together towards for a future for Virginians that I think reflects on the future for America. I think there's hope in what we're doing in Virginia right now. All the progressive left is doing is trying to sell fear, and hope beats fear every week.

Yeah, "common sense" meaning the return of coat hangers and lots of tax breaks for rich people.

Blue Virginia did a great job of breaking down the entire horrific interview. You can can check that out here: Video: With 9 Days Until Election Day in VA, Glenn Youngkin Rants, Raves Fear Mongers and Lies a LOT on MAGA Maria Bartiromo’s Fox “News” Show

Everyone in Virginia needs to get out and vote and get your friends out there as well. This is the guy the media keeps pushing as some "moderate" savior to come in at the last minute if Trump ever finally flames out. He's no moderate. He's an extremist like the rest of them.
