Republicans can't even get together to support their own defense bill. It's been a massive embarrassment for House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. It's now reached a point where a Republican Rep. praised Nancy Pelosi's Speakership while casting doubt on Kevin McCarthy's. Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) told CNN's Kaitlan Collins that as Speaker, Nancy Pelosi was "successful."

"Do you still support this, Speaker?" Collins asked.

"I have my questions," Burchett said. "I have my doubts right now because I'm seeing we need leadership, ma'am."

"We don't need someone just to say we've got 218 boats or whatever that jumps on the train after it leaves the station," he continued. "We need some people."

"Speaker Pelosi, for instance, I don't agree with her ever, hardly on anything, but she was pretty successful in the way she did it was she put an issue out amongst her caucus," the Tennessee Republican said. "She met with them."

"She got a, she figured out what they wanted, and then they put it on the floor, and they passed it, and they rallied around it," he continued. "A lot of work goes into that, but we're not seeing that. I'm not seeing that work right now, and it's very disappointing to me."

"A rare compliment from a Republican for Speaker Pelosi," Collins said.

"She's a friend of mine," Burchett replied.

Imagine that. Burchett and Pelosi are friends. It can happen. And people need to stop electing members of the chaos crew of the Republican party if they want to be treated like adults. I did mention yesterday that McCarthy should talk to Pelosi to get some badly needed advice. Or McCarthy can keep embarrassing himself.
